This may not be a big issue to you, but think again, because there are hospitals in India and Pakistan, where people are dying from cancer, because religious doctors believe it's their karma to have cancer. I say bullshit, because there's no way they could possibly know that this is one's karma. In fact, I think that's their way to say either "fuck you" or "we can't treat you". And sure, everyone's happy.

Why karma is bullshit (1)

In every religion, there's that thing that keeps people from doing bad things and encourages them to do good ones - there's heaven, hell and ten commandments in Christianity, 72 virgins in Islam, and Hinduism (and also other derivatives, such as certain variations of Buddhism, Jainism, etc.), we have karma - sometimes spelled Karma. So, to start off, here's a quick overview of how these mechanisms of control work.
