Why karma is bullshit (2)

Consequences of practising karma beliefs
This may not be a big issue to you, but think again, because there are hospitals in India and Pakistan, where people are dying from cancer, because religious doctors believe it's their karma to have cancer. I say bullshit, because there's no way they could possibly know that this is one's karma. In fact, I think that's their way to say either "fuck you" or "we can't treat you". And sure, everyone's happy.

Or if you're blind (but it's curable blindness), sure, some doctors will try to treat you if it's only possible, but some of them will say, "that's your karma, live with it" (="that's your problem, so kiss my ass").
Many Hindu  karma-believers also don't try to solve any life problems because of karma (and that's why Buddhism is superior to Hinduism, because they say it's not karma, but a "koan" - a challenge, set by karma, you must overcome).

Why karma doesn't work today.
Simply: The Law. Karma was once what now law provides - a set of instructions you should follow, or else you'll be punished. Same as Kosher, Halal, ten commandments, heaven and hell, these all were just mechanisms of control, imposed as a form of religion. It's all just another form of law. People don't need to follow old laws if they have new ones, applying to the same areas the old ones applied to, and which work just as well. You see, religion operated on the principle of fear, of constantly promising things but also scaring people with hell. That's a method called "carrot and a stick". And you're the donkey.
